"Lives for Sale" to air on public television in January
While politicians and the media wrestle with the thorny issue of immigration, a new one-hour investigative documentary entitled Lives for Sale exposes the painful, rarely seen human side of illegal immigration— human trafficking, the growing black market trade in human beings. Lives for Sale will air on public television in January.
In order to ensure a substantial audience for this program and the important issues it treats, your assistance is requested in contacting your local public television station between now and November 19. Though Lives for Sale airs in January, each PBS station must decide if it will carry it, and then has to download it from a satellite feed that only occurs on November 19.
A page of talking points, a press release and flyer that will guide you in approaching your Public Television station, can be downloaded by going to: http://www.livesforsale.com/lives_site/partners.php, and enter the password: mklfs
We are interested in hearing about your successful experiences in contacting your local public television station about airing Lives for Sale. This will enable us to track the outreach the program might facilitate. And do contact us if you have any questions about the program. Please e-mail us at livesforsale@maryknoll.org .
